Anaconda, Montana (pop. 9,417) is near the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. Scenic mountains are abundant.

The area around Anaconda offers all kinds of recreational opportunites, such as skiing, hiking, and camping. Horseback riding is popular, too.

The historic Washoe Theatre is a fantastic attraction in Anaconda.

The old Anaconda Company smelter stack, built in 1919, and standing over 585 feet, is another special attraction. The copper smelter closed a few years back, but smelter's stack remains and is a reminder of the heyday of copper processing in this area of Montana.

Nearby Georgetown Lake is popular with locals.
